I have the privilege of being a teacher and a student of Spirit. I am from a matriarchal society, my teachers have been grandmothers, mothers, fathers and they continue to be my sisters, brothers, our children grandchildren and complete strangers.
My wife Jenny and I live in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Jen was born and raised in the village.
On the other hand, my family of Ruka Te Korako come from a little village called Taheke that’s been “caught” in a web of time. Taheke, that sits metaphorically besides the flipper of Puhanga. Sacred Puhanga the spouting whale, for our families, is one of the most beloved of our mountains in the far north of New Zealand. Taheke is one of those little historic relics, forgotten by all except our meandering river, family, the odd farmer, roadside hedges of miniature pink roses, scampering quail, and waving grandkids calling the wanderer home. Taheke, home of our ancestral house Mahuri
Every wanderer wandering the cosmos of infinite possibility should have their own particular ancestral house where grandkids are standing in the door-way, bathed in bright light waving out to them, calling them home.
I hold a simple faith that we are Forever Beings.
As long as we are mired in our inhumane
behavior toward each other, we will continue to
be recycled until our heart consciousness has
been restored to its original state of perfection.

Te Karanga Tuatahi
Our First Call
An Invitation to Attend
Hope Springs Institute, Peebles, Ohio.
We invite you to attend this stellar weekend with teacher, Elder Raymond TeKorako Ruka on the beautiful spacious grounds of Hope Springs Institute in southern Ohio.
This internationally acclaimed Priest of Waitaha will gently guide participants in ancient ceremonial practices that are filled with the love and wisdom of an ancient land.
The purpose of this weekend is to touch gently upon the fundamental requirements for global peace and its ramifications. How can this be achieved?
By connecting with the harmonious relationship of people with the land, of people with the oceans and its tributaries, of people with the flora and fauna that spring from the Earth Mother and Her waters, of people with people and the creative spiritual energy of the Universe that is in all things that ARE!
Underpinning our gathering are the philosophies of the Ancient People of Waitaha of which some are recorded in our books, Song of Waitaha and Whispers of Waitaha, which will be available at the gathering at a substantial discount.
These are the Sacred Ceremonies Waitaha Elder Raymond TeKorako Ruka will speak on behalf of his Grandmother Teachers.
Friday 8th at 8pm, Elder Raymond’s first presentation is titled, Matriarchy, Divine Feminine. Feminine Energy: Why Waitaha revere the Matriarchy. This presentation will take approx 75 minutes.
It begins with the First Woman being formed from the Sacred Red Clay.
And having life breathed into her by Tane nui a Rangi – God.
TO BE KISSED BY GOD. Something or someone had to start our forever journey here on Mother Earth and it was woman, but she had to pay a price…
This First Woman… gives birth to Hine Titama, the Dawn Lights, Venus. Venus at the moment is fifteen times brighter than the brightest star Sirius! I wonder why? And by the way, Sirius outshines our sun x 20.
And this Sacred Woman, Hine Titama has two children and takes upon Herself a very Special Title, Hinenuitepo. In addition the Elder will also speak about the Twelve Daughters of Time.
Saturday 9TH 7:00am – 7:45am Elder Raymond leads a guided meditation a little different from what might usually be experienced in the West. In this guided meditation, a personal encounter with what is known as unexplainable phenomena. Alien Life.
Saturday 9th 10:30am – 12.30pm Grandmothers and Elder Raymond will lead The Spiral Ceremony, Te Awhiowhio. This ceremony is modeled on the fern frond, the koru, or if one looks upward, any of the cosmic spirals. The basic premise Elder Raymond’s Healer’s use is that the frond, the cosmos or Nature is always releasing, renewing and regenerating herself and that humanity as well as the individual has the same capability. This is a powerful group healing ceremony, using the spiral dynamic, which can allow for personal releasing, renewal and regeneration.
Saturday 9th 1:30pm – 3:30pm Elder Raymond will take the family on a walking meditation at the ancient Dragon/Serpent Mound Earthworks. A simple Water Blessing will complete our visit.
Saturday 9th 7:00pm – 8:00pm Growing up to become a Priest in a Matriarchy. Elder Raymond will give a presentation on the methodologies his Elders, both Grandmothers and Grandfathers of Waitaha crafted in choosing their Tohunga/Wisdom Holders from the following generations.
Saturday 9th at 8.30pm – 10.30pm My beloved brother, Elder Sunk Pa Ska Uha, Headsman of the Sunk Pa Ska Uha Tiyospaye of the Oglala Lakota Nation, from South Dakota, will offer a sacred Sweat Lodge at 8.30pm – 10.30pm
Sunday 10th at 7am – 7.45am Elder Raymond leads a guided meditation. The meditation tells the story of The Blue Comet, The beloved twin of Earth Mother and the two precious gifts she gave to her Earth Sister so long ago.
Sunday 10th at 11am – 12.15pm Grandmothers and Elder Raymond, share a discussion of our family gathering and speak to outcomes and answer questions with the family.
Sunday 10th at 1.30pm – 2.30pm Grandmothers will close our family gathering which will be held outside on the lawn in front of the Hope Springs Peace Pole.
Poem written by my gentle brother TeRauwhero Barney TeKorako Ruka
Rapua te kakano o rongo i nga pakanga
Seek in war the seed of peace
Whakatupuria i roto i te matauranga me te Ngawari
Nurture it through understanding and patience
Kia puawai ai te putiputi o te aroha
That the flower of love may blossom
Kia mau tonu te rongo
That peace may reign
